5 февраля 19:00-21:00 в коворкинге Yellow Door состоится встреча с известным предпринимателем, инвестором, общественным деятелем — Эстер Дайсон (Esther Dyson). 6 февраля пройдет закрытая питч-сессия для отобранных стартапов.

В своей беседе Эстер поделится тенденциями венчурного бизнеса на Западе, обсудит перспективы и возможности российских стартапов по расширению на глобальный рынок.

About Esther Dyson

Ms. Dyson, named by Forbes magazine as one of the world's most powerful women in business, is regarded as one of the most influential voices in technology. Esther Dyson was born in 1951 in Zurich, Switzerland, to prominent mathematician Verena Huber-Dyson and physicist and futurist writer Freeman Dyson. Her father worked at the prestigious Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, and Esther grew up accustomed to seeing Nobel laureates at the dinner table. She entered Harvard University at age 16, but by her own account, rarely attended classes, instead spending most of her time at the university newspaper, the Harvard Crimson, or with friends on the Harvard Lampoon. She graduated with a B.A. in economics in 1972. In 1980, Esther founded EDventure Holdings, a pioneering information technology and new media company and in the late 1980s became one of the most pioneering investors in Eastern European and Russian technology startups. She also became involved in public discussion about the future of the Internet — co-chair of the National Information Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIIAC), head of the Electronic Frontiers Foundation (EFF), and interim chairman of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), Dyson has helped mediate and inform public policy regarding privacy, encryption, trust, and the assignment of Internet domain names. One of her books, Release 2.0, presented the key issues and controversies surrounding the evolving Internet. Her newsletter, Release 1.0, became a must-read among elite technology executives. In 1983, she took over the PC Forum, an industry hot ticket where Bill Gates rubbed shoulders with Lotus founder Mitch Kapor and other high-tech giants. In January 2000, Esther started writing a syndicated twice-weekly column, Release 3.0, for The New York Times. The feature discusses the impact of digital technology on daily life as well as on the world's social, political, and financial fabric. In addition to managing EDventure Holdings, Esther continues to invest in start-up Internet companies and to serve on various boards that set policy for the Web. She is a leading angel investor focused on breakthrough efficacy in healthcare, government transparency, digital technology, biotechnology, and space. In 2008, Dyson trained as a back-up spaceflight participantfor Charles Simonyi's trip to the International Space Station aboard the Soyuz TMA-14 mission which took place in 2009.

Esther sits on the boards numerous companies, including 23andMe, Eventful.com, Luxoft, Meetup Inc., Pressreader.com, formerly NewspaperDirect), PA Consulting, Personal Inc, Voxiva (the company behind text4baby.org in the US and Russia), WPP Group, XCOR Aerospace and Yandex. She was an early investor in tech startups such as TrustedID, Cygnus Solutions, Flickr (sold to Yahoo!), del.icio.us (sold to Yahoo!), Eventful, Netbeans (sold to Sun Microsystems), Powerset, Systinet, ZEDO, CV-Online, Medscape (now part of WebMD), Linkstorm, Medstory (sold to Microsoft), Meetup, Valkee, Robin Labs and Lexity (sold to Yahoo). Some of her latest startups investments in the health field have included GeriJoy,[18] Applied Proteomics, Genomera, Habit Labs, HealthEngage, Health Loop, HealthRally, HealthTap,i2dx Keas,[disambiguation needed, Lexity,[19] Medico, Medivo,kurbo, Medivo, Omada Health, Organized Wisdom, PatientsLikeMe, Resilient, Sleepio,[20] Startup Health, Tocagen, Trial Networks, Mequibrium, VitaPortal, PatientsKnowBest.
